IVY MAY BROWN On May 16, 2007 at Concordia Hospital, Ivy May Brown went to be with her Lord and Saviour. Ivy was born on October 16, 1915 on the family farm at Rossburn. She was predeceased by her parents, Alexander and Jessie Brown, and four sisters, Vera, Grace, Audrey, and Ada. She leaves to mourn her sister Gwendolyn (Jack) Laskey and numerous nieces and nephews including special nieces, Arlie Laskey and Roxanne (Michael) Piche, great nieces, Jessica and Sarah, and nephew Gordon Fletcher. Ivy took her schooling in Rossburn and as a young woman she came to Winnipeg and worked at Eaton's Mail Order and later at Canadian Liquid Air. Ivy enjoyed life, especially enjoying it in her own way. She was extremely independent and travelled extensively during her years at Air Canada where she worked in the Payroll Department. She took her Christianity and church work very seriously. For years she taught Sunday School at Calvary Temple, where she was a member. She also worked with the Childrens' Bus Ministry and the Crusader Girls. After retiring, she lived in Saskatoon for a few years, then moving to Abbotsford and Parksville, before returning to Winnipeg to live out her remaining years. She will always be remembered for her generosity in giving to others. She was happiest when she could give something away to someone in need. The family would like to express deepest appreciation to the staff at Concordia Hospital for their kind care for Ivy during her stay there. Also thanks to Pastor Logan from Calvary Temple for his many visits. A memorial service will be held for Ivy on Friday, May 25, 2007 at 2:00 p.m., at Klassen Funeral Home, 1897 Henderson Hwy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faith to Live By Arrangements entrusted to: KLASSEN FUNERAL HOME 1897 Henderson Hwy. 338-0331 Help us to support Winnipeg Harvest by bringing a tin for the bin www.klassenfuneralhome.com
